Indian Museum

Indian Museum is the largest museum in the country was built in 1875. The Museum is an impressive building built in the Italian style of architeture. The Museum has six main sectors as - Art, Anthropology, Archaeology, Geology, Industry and Zoology. The museum is mainly on Jahwarlal Nehru Road.

- Nehru Museum

Built during the late sixties, this museum hums with children's activities. It has a huge library for children, besides adaptation of Indian classics in clay models. This contains dolls from all over the world. Interestingly, the galleries display the Ramayana and the Mahabharata in clay-models. This is opened on all days except Mondays from 12-00 Noon to 8 P.M. It is located on J.L. Nehru Road.

Birla Technological Museum

The Birla Industrial and Technological Museum opened its door to the public on 2nd May, 1959. The museum, the first of its type in India, was started by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). The museum has several separate galleries exhibiting various wonders of science. Galleries: Atom, Motive Power, Transport, Iron and Steel, Copper, Petroleum, Mining, Popular Science, Electricity, Television, Communication, Computer Section, How Things work, Children's Gallery and Electronics.

- Rabindra Bharati Museum

The Museum contains vestiges of the Bengal Renaissance of the nineteenth century. Situated near Girish Park on Chittaranjan Avenue, it is open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on weekdays (1.30 p.m. on Saturdays). It is accessible by any bus going northwards along Chittaranjan Avenue. The bus stop is Girish Park.
