History

SFSL was incorporated on 26.06.1989 as a Private Limited Company under the name and style of Sumedha Real Estate Pvt. Ltd. Which was rechristened Sumedha Fiscal Services Pvt. Ltd. on 19.1.1993 to reflect the core area of operation relating to various fund and fee based financial services. The name was later changed to Sumedha Fiscal Services Ltd and a fresh Certificate of Registration was obtained on 21.3.1994.

SFSL started its operations as an Investment Banking company concentrating on loan syndication equity placements, Corporate Advisory services etc. Scrapping of CCI, the advent of SEBI and liberalisation of Capital market resulted in a big boom for the Primary market in the early 1990s. To take advantage of the same SFSL ventured into merchant banking activities as well and got itself registered with SEBI initially as Category III Merchant Banker which was later on upgraded to Category I.

Like most of the other financial services company, SFSL also started fund based activities, mainly lease financing, as a measure of tax planning and optimising return on surplus funds. To enlarge its fund base, the company came out with a public issue of Rs.30 millions in March 1995 which met good response. In compliance with SEBI directive to the merchant bankers to undertake fee based activities, the Company discontinued its fund based activities in the year 1997.

In 1996, Capital Resources International Limited (CRIL), a group company started stock broking activity as a member of NSE in Capital Market Segment and as dealer of OTCEI. CRIL was merged with SFSL with effect from 1.4.1998 to have synergies in operation, improve operational efficiency and higher networth. Today SFSL provides a wide range of services in the field of merchant banking, loan syndication, stock broking, advisory services, corporate counseling etc.

Dr. A.K. Bhattacharya Director	A professional Banker, with over 3 decades of association with Banking & Finance, being at top positions in a number of commercial banks.
Mr. Rajeev Tandon Director	A practising Chartered Accountant with years of experience in Financial Services.
Mr. Anuj Chowdhry Director	A Chartered Accountant by profession, his wide ranging experience in Finance, Audit and Liaisoning with various Govt. Agencies is of immense value to the Company.
Mr. Prakash Kr. Biyani Director	He is a noted businessman, well versed in trading & Stock Broking.
